Miss Buckner received her B.A. from a Christian college in Colorado. Classes at CSUS completed her requirements for a California Teaching Credential, which she has maintained through the years. Miss Buckner has been teaching at VCS since 1975. During the years she taught second grade, worked in administration, and presently teaches fourth grade. Working with the impressionable, enthusiastic, fourth grader seems to be her favorite role. In 1992, Miss Buckner took a leave of absence to travel to West Africa. There she taught a fifth grade class at a boarding school for missionary children. God used that experience to broaden her boundaries and to strengthen her faith. One of Miss Buckner's greatest joys is to see former students continuing in their walk with the Lord. She has had the pleasure of teaching several "second generation" students. Her favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart: and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
