Mr. John Huffman graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. He has been the principal of the Junior High and High School since 2004 and was named Superintendent of Victory Christian Schools in 2010. Mr. Huffman began working at Victory in 1978 as a coach. The following year he began teaching and continued until 1986. He left Victory for 12 years to assist his wife in coaching the Women's Basketball team at his alma mater. In 2000, Mr. Huffman returned to Victory, becoming the Dean of Students, four years later the principal, and currently the Superintendent.
Mr. Huffman has 3 children who have graduated from Victory. He has coached almost every sport that VCS offers. He currently plays softball. He also is involved in the orchestra at his church.
Mr. Huffman served with Sports Ambassadors, a ministry of Overseas Crusades, for 3 years playing basketball and sharing his faith in New Guinea, West Africa, and the Philippines.
Mr. Huffman's favorite verse is Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men."

Mrs. Marci Doria started working with Victory in October of 2016. She is a former graduate of Victory, class of 2000. She has a B.A. degree in Liberal Studies from Simpson University. Prior to coming to Victory, she has spent her time as a Coordinator in the recreation field, building schedules, developing curriculum, and connecting with families. She loves being able to build positive relationships. Mrs. Doria is married with two young children. Her son Malaki is in the Elementary at Victory.
Mrs. Doria enjoys spending time with her family, being active outdoors or playing sports, and writing creative stories in her spare time. She has a passion for seeing student needs and helping them to succeed academically, relationally, and spiritually.
Her favorite verse is Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.'"

Mrs. Cassidy is one of our high school receptionists. She began working at Victory in September of 2011. All of her four children have attended Victory. One graduated in 2011, one graduated in 2012, one is in high school, and one is in junior high school. Sharon has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies (Elementary Education) from Cal Poly.
Mrs. Cassidy enjoys aerobic walking, her children, her husband, animals, and trying food from other cultures. She studied in Mexico City for a year and has been on two short term mission trips to Mexico and one to Peru. Sharon ministers to Victory students by baking each student a chocolate chip cookie for their birthday and handing out Scripture verses to encourage staff and students.
Mrs. Cassidy's favorite thing about working at Victory is being able to freely encourage others with the Word of God. Her favorite verse is Matthew 6:33, "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you."

Mrs. Webb is one of our high school receptionists. She began working at VCS in August of 2014 when her daughter started attending high school. Before coming to VCS, she worked as a mortgage underwriter, an office manager for a small construction business, and a school secretary.
Mrs. Webb enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, attending Bible studies, and enjoying time with friends. She loves to cook and bake, and she is always looking for new recipes to try.
Her favorite part of working in the office is getting to know and interact with our students.

Mrs. Amy Cosentino has a B.A. degree in Journalism and a minor in English from CSUS. She earned a California teaching credential from National University. She has previously taught Kindergarten, 5th and 6th grades at VCS. Mrs. Cosentino is a VCS graduate, and her daughter Cassie is a current student.
In addition to teaching in our English department, Mrs. Cosentino works in the Counseling Office every afternoon. She also serves as a support coach to mentor VCS faculty members working through California's Teacher Induction Program.
Mrs. Cosentino loves to read good literature, enjoys tap dancing, and is an avid San Francisco 49ers fan. Spending time with her students is her favorite part of being a teacher.
Her favorite verse is Isaiah 40:31, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Mr. Ken Jeffrey began teaching at VCS in 1988-1992, and returned to VCS in 1997. He has a B.S.in Music Education and Bible from Maranatha Baptist Bible College. He attended the American Conservatory of Music. He has worked with eight different Christian schools in the Sacramento area with their band programs. He also has a janitorial business where he has worked for 30 years. Mr. Jeffrey is involved with the pep band which plays for pep rallies and home basketball games. Mr. Jeffrey's favorite thing about teaching at VCS is that he is free to teach the whole truth about God and how He is involved in every facet of our lives.
Mr. Jeffrey enjoys bicycling, N-scale trains, and playing with his granddaughter, Lily.He has been involved in church music since he was saved. He plays the saxophone, flute, clarinet, and the piano. He is involved in his church worship team and practices at least one hour each day on his instruments.
Mr. Jeffrey's favorite verse is John 15:4-5, "'Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine; so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.'"
Mr. Jones has a B.S. degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. He earned his M.A. degree in Worship Arts & Theology from Hope International University. In addition to teaching at VCS, Mr. Jones serves as Minister of Worship at Journey Church. His son, Caleb, is a VCS graduate.
Mr. Jones spends his free time cartooning and playing and writing music. He collects old vintage hymnals and original cartoon art. As a musician, he firmly believes that there is no such thing as owning “too many guitars”!
He enjoys helping the students in their journey to becoming what God has called them to be and helping to cultivate their gifts, especially in the area of music. He finds the look on their faces when they finally “get it” to be a great reward.
His favorite verse is Psalm 61:8, “And I’ll be the poet that sings Your glory, and live what I sing every day.”

Mr. Daniel Kirk earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Grace School of Theology and Ministry. While attending school, Mr. Kirk was a caregiver for a young man with cerebral palsy.
Mr. Kirk enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs, reading, and making bow ties as well as playing basketball, football and working out. His favorite thing about working at VCS is seeing God change the hearts of the students and seeing them understand something about God that they have never fully understood before.
His favorite verse is Ezra 10:7, “For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel.”

Mrs. Jana Kush began teaching at VCS in 2015. She has earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State University, San Bernardino. She has also earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Montana. Prior to coming to VCS, Mrs. Kush taught sixth grade in the public school system and then was a homeschool teacher for her two sons. Her sons are currently attending VCS.
One of Mrs. Kush’s favorite things is going on hikes with her family in the great outdoors, admiring God’s creation. She has a passion for reading and learning more about maintaining a strong Biblical worldview in this ever changing culture.

Mrs. Marriott currently teaches Spanish. She is a class advisor and has previously been the Student Council advisor as well as an assistant to several drama productions. She is a a graduate of California State University, Sacramento. She attended Sierra College, California State University, Turlock, and took a graduate class at University of California, Davis. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Communication Studies. She is also WASC and ACSI accredited in Spanish and English.
Mrs. Marriott taught pre-school for 2 years while attending college. She also worked for 2 years as an aide in a bilingual third grade class in Lincoln, California immediately before being hired at Victory in 1979. Her children, Lori and Eric, both attended Victory from the beginning of elementary through high school. Her husband is a "semi-retired" handyman and they both like fixing things together.
Gardening, doing crossword puzzles, sudoku, and other puzzle type activities are her favorite things to do. She has a Wizard of Oz collection that fills a room in her home. Hanging out with her family is what she prefers most of all. She and her husband belong to two Model A clubs and attend activities in their 1928 Model A Ford.
Her favorite part about teaching at Victory is the students. They are always different and fun and the reason she works here. Her favorite verses are Phillipians 4:4-8, "Rejoice in the Lord always: again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things." These are the verses she turns to for encouragement because they redirect her mind in a positive direction.

Mr. Jim Pratt began teaching at VCS in 1977. He earned a B.A. in Business Administration with a minor in History as well as his California state teaching credential. in Social Science from California State University in Sacramento. Mr. Pratt has coached baseball, girls softball, and junior high basketball and soccer. He has also been the student council advisor, the honor society advisor, the boys' dean, the assistant principal, and the senior class advisor for 5 years. His favorite part of teaching is sharing the knowledge he has learned in spiritual, educational, and emotional areas and learning from the students a different way to see and understand new things.
Mr. Pratt enjoys reading biographies. He has a hat collection of fun places where he has visited. He is known for his unique ties that he wears to school.

Mrs. Natalie Richardson began teaching at VCS in 2005. She has her MAT. in Mathematics from the University of California, Davis. Before coming to Victory, she worked for the California Department of Water Resources, taught at Sacramento Country Day School, and taught at Sacramento City College. All four of her children currently attend VCS. Mrs. Richardson coaches junior varsity volleyball and elementary basketball, as well as advising the chess club and honor society. Her favorite part of teaching at Victory is the students.

Mrs. Kathy Schoch has returned as our guidance counselor after being away for 5 years. During those five years she was a substitute teacher and an administrative assistant. She has been at VCS for a total of almost 25 years. Mrs. Schoch is a graduate of Florida State University with a B.S. degree in Education. All three of her sons graduated from Victory. Today one is a missionary in Albania, one is a pastor, and one is a vascular surgeon now in a fellowship for cardiac-thorasic surgery.
Mrs. Schoch enjoys doing Bible research and spending time with her family. She takes great delight in helping each student reach his/her potential in Christ.
Her favorite verses are 1 John 5:11-13, "And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. Mrs. Shannan Shope began teaching at VCS in 2002. She has a B.A. in Communications with a minor in finance from Vanguard University. She has done graduate work in English and Education. Before coming to VCS Mrs. Shope was home raising her two children, who currently attend VCS.
Mrs. Shope has been involved in many drama productions here at Victory including The Sound of Music, The Music Man, Cheaper By the Dozen, Anne of Green Gables and The Happiest Millionaire. She has coached volleyball and softball at VCS and will coach girls soccer with her husband, Chris. She also conducts "Collegebound" for the juniors and seniors to prepare them for the process of college applications and financial aide.
Mrs. Shope's interests include scrapbooking and sports. She currently plays soccer, softball, and volleyball at different times of the year. Her favorite part about working at VCS is the students. They are the reason she teaches.

Miss Nicole Thom graduated in 2010 from Bethel University with a B.A. degree in physics and a B.S. degree in chemistry. She completed her M.S. degree in chemistry in 2012 at Pennsylvania State University. Before coming to Victory, Miss Thom was a teaching assistant and also worked as a Technical Aide at 3M.
Miss Thom is excited to teach in an environment where she can teach science and talk about God.

Mr. Roger Welborn began teaching at VCS January of 2007. He has a B.S. in Physics from Texas A & M University. He has been a computer engineer for 30 years. Besides teaching Physics, he is involved in coaching golf and JV girls basketball.
Mr. Welborn has 3 daughters who have graduated from Victory. His favorite part about teaching at VCS is seeing students understand new concepts. Mr. Welborn has 3 brothers who are all ministers of the Gospel. Mr. Welborn enjoys astronomy, golf, and racewalking.
