Mr. John Huffman graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. He has been the principal of the Junior High and High School since 2004 and was named Superintendent of Victory Christian Schools in 2010. Mr. Huffman began working at Victory in 1978 as a coach. The following year he began teaching and continued until 1986. He left Victory for 12 years to assist his wife in coaching the Women's Basketball team at his alma mater. In 2000, Mr. Huffman returned to Victory, becoming the Dean of Students, four years later the principal, and currently the Superintendent.
Mr. Huffman has 3 children who have graduated from Victory. He has coached almost every sport that VCS offers. He currently plays softball. He also is involved in the orchestra at his church.
Mr. Huffman served with Sports Ambassadors, a ministry of Overseas Crusades, for 3 years playing basketball and sharing his faith in New Guinea, West Africa, and the Philippines.
Mr. Huffman's favorite verse is Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men."

Mrs. Elta Johnson first came to Victory in 1983 when she enrolled her oldest child, Aaron, in kindergarten. Since that time, her sons, Nathan and Ben, entered kindergarten and, along with Aaron, graduated from VCS. She was very involved during their elementary years as an art docent, field trip mom, room mom, driver, and substitute teacher and aide. In 1998 she also started substituting on the Junior High/High School side and was hired in 2000 as the Receptionist. Her job now entails Office Manager, Registrar, and PowerSchool Administrator.
Her favorite part of her job is the students, their families, and the people with whom she works. She delights serving the Lord in this place.
Mrs. Johnson's favorite Bible verses are Romans 8:38-39, "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Mrs. Sharon Cassidy is one of our high school receptionists. She began working at Victory in September of 2011. All four of her children have attended Victory. One graduated in 2011, one graduated in 2012, one is in high school, and one is in junior high school. Sharon has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies (Elementary Education) from Cal Poly.
Mrs. Cassidy enjoys aerobic walking, her children, her husband, animals, and trying food from other cultures. She studied in Mexico City for a year and has been on two short term mission trips to Mexico and one to Peru. Sharon ministers to Victory students by baking each student a chocolate chip cookie for their birthday and handing out Scripture verses to encourage staff and students.
Mrs. Cassidy's favorite thing about working at Victory is being able to freely encourage others with the Word of God. Her favorite verse is Matthew 6:33, "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

Mrs. Jana Kush began teaching at VCS in 2015. She has earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State University, San Bernardino. She has also earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Montana. Prior to coming to VCS, Mrs. Kush taught sixth grade in the public school system and then was a homeschool teacher for her two sons. Her sons are currently attending VCS.
One of Mrs. Kush’s favorite things is going on hikes with her family in the great outdoors, admiring God’s creation. She has a passion for reading and learning more about maintaining a strong Biblical worldview in this ever changing culture.
Mrs. Kush’s favorite Bible verse is Psalm 103:8, “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in loving-kindness.”

Mr. Ken Jeffrey began teaching at VCS in 1988-1992, and returned to VCS in 1997. He as a B.S.in Music Education and Bible from Maranatha Baptist Bible College. He attended the American Conservatory of Music. He has worked with eight different Christian schools in the Sacramento area with their band programs. He also has a janitorial business where he has worked for 30 years. Mr. Jeffrey is involved with the pep band which plays for pep rallies and home basketball games. Mr. Jeffrey's favorite thing about teaching at VCS is that he is free to teach the whole truth about God and how He is involved in every facet of our lives.
Mr. Jeffrey enjoys bicycling, N-scale trains, and playing with his granddaughter, Lily.He has been involved in church music since he was saved. He plays the saxophone, flute, clarinet, and the piano. He is involved in his church worship team and practices at least one hour each day on his instruments.
Mr. Jeffrey's favorite verse is John 15:4-5, "'Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine; so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.'"

Mrs. Cindy Johnson began teaching at VCS in 1986. She has earned a B.A. in Elementary Education from Concordia College in St. Paul, Minnesota.. Before coming to Victory, Mrs. Johnson worked as a substitute teacher, a secretary, and sales for Frito Lay. She serves as a class advisor as well as the advisor for honor society. She has two grown children who both graduated from Victory.
Mrs. Johnson loves reading historical fiction and spending time with her 3 grandchildren. Her favorite thing about teaching at Victory is the wonderful students! During Mrs. Johnson's first two years of teaching kindergarten, she worked at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

Mr. Jim Pratt began teaching at VCS in 1977. He earned a B.A. in Business Administration with a minor in History as well as his California state teaching credential. in Social Science from California State University in Sacramento. Mr. Pratt has coached baseball, girls softball, and junior high basketball and soccer. He has also been the student council advisor, the honor society advisor, the boys' dean, the assistant principal, and the senior class advisor for 5 years. His favorite part of teaching is sharing the knowledge he has learned in spiritual, educational, and emotional areas and learning from the students a different way to see and understand new things.
Mr. Pratt enjoys reading biographies. He has a hat collection of fun places where he has visited. He is known for his unique ties that he wears to school.
Mr. Pratt's favorite Bible verses come from Jeremiah 29:11-13, "'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search Me with all your heart.'"

Mrs. Donita Preston began teaching at VCS in 1976-1980. She then stayed home to raise her family returning to VCS in 1987. She has her B.S. degree in Mathematics from Biola University. Before coming to Victory, she served as a secretary to professors at Biola University. She is involved with math lab and math league at school.
Mrs. Preston's interests include reading, sewing, and some collections. She collects patriotic memorabilia, strawberries, apples, lady bugs, and turtles. All four of her boys attended and graduated from Victory. Her husband is a pastor of a small church, and she is the church clerk, co-treasurer, and pianist. Her favorite thing about working at Victory is the interaction with students and the friendships with the staff.

Mrs. Natalie Richardson began teaching at VCS in 2005. She has her MAT. in Mathematics from the University of California, Davis. Before coming to Victory, she worked for the California Department of Water Resources, taught at Sacramento Country Day School, and taught at Sacramento City College. All four of her children currently attend VCS. Mrs. Richardson coaches junior varsity volleyball and elementary basketball, as well as advising the chess club and honor society. Her favorite part of teaching at Victory is the students.
Mrs. Richardson enjoys reading, sports, and Bible study in her free time.
Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28, "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

Mr. Tim Smithers began teaching at VCS in 1997. He has a B.A. in Communications from Washington State University. He also has his teaching certificate through ACSI. He serves as our athletic director as well as teaching various subjects which include Algebra 1, Bible, PE, and Weight Training. Before coming to Victory he was Principal and athletic director at Wilton Christian School for 10 years.
Mr. Smithers serves as a class advisor and coaches volleyball, softball, and soccer. Two of his four children graduated from Victory in 1998 and 2000. He is a grandfather of 4. He has been married to his wife, Sandy, for 38 years. Mr. Smithers enjoys hiking, gardening, traveling, his grandchildren, and home improvements.
His favorite thing about teaching at VCS is that God has allowed him to have a direct impact on young lives and seeing those lives develop and mature right before his eyes.
His favorite verse is Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."
